Usaha Mulia Abadi A.C. invites you to do something different this summer. Enjoy nature from July 5th to the 18th, and volunteer with people from different countries!
General Information:
You will be collaborating with the organization: Usaha Mulia Abadi A.C., located in the rural community of San Miguel Atlautla, Estado de México, 2,400 meters above sea level. This organization’s main task is working along with the local community to build a Center with an educational Project for children and youth. The mission of Usaha Mulia Abadi A.C. is to support through this center the development of skills, knowledge and comprehension to recognize and manifest the potential of children and youth in an atmosphere of harmony and respect.
Project Activities:
The project focuses on the following different areas:
• Infrastructure: Build a center for an educational programme focused on children and youth.
• Nutrition: Pack and deliver nutritional products to children. The products contain proteins, vitamins and minerals to support a child’s daily nutrition.
• Workshops for children: Develop children´s skills and talents through art.
• Social service: activities for the community of San Miguel Atlautla (elder people, children´s day, Christmas, etc.)
• Ecology: reforestation, forest cleaning and care of the orchard.
• Ecotouristic project: Create a space for being in contact with nature, learn from it and learn how to take care of it.
Volunteer Tasks:

Volunteer requirements:
Necessary :
• Positive attitude and be adventurous
• To be aware about the environment
• You should have a lot of energy, to perform physical labor.
• You should like and be respectful to nature (plants and animals)
• It is important to be prepared to experience life in the forest.
Desirable :
• Have some knowledge of the environment.
• Teaching ability to give English lessons or workshops for children.
• It is not a requirement to speak Spanish, but you will need to speak a little for socializing with the local community.
• Leadership skills
What does the programme include?
• Board And Lodging: You will be living in a country house along with other Mexican and international volunteers. You will prepare your own meals (breakfast and dinner) at the house.
• On arrival training: You will recieve all the information you need about Mexico, the local comunity and the organization. You will be taken to your new home and your tasks will be assigned.
• Intercultural activities: You will be able to show and share your culture with Mexican volunteers and learn about the Mexican culture, traditions and lifestile.
• Transportation from Mexico City to the project.
What to bring?
Sleeping bag, personal hygiene items, towel, clothes for warm and cold weather, jacket for cold weather, mountain boots, sneakers, old and comfortable clothes that you don’t care about damaging while working.
