Personal, group and community level fundraising for worthy projects is a great way to raise awareness of the needs of communities and bring people together around something meaningful. Adopt an SD project: ”During a visit to India, some of our group members came to know of the work of ANISHA in the slums of Bangalore. They communicated their excitement to our group, which decided to adopt the project on a long-term basis. Learning about the project, for our group, has meant learning about the conditions in India that push people out of the rural areas and into urban slums. It has made us more aware of problems of food security, culture, and human rights in India, that affect other countries as well.” Samuel Chapleau, Montreal, Canada.
Elfrida Schragen from Victoria B.C. has used her skills as a painter to raise $20,000 towards building a shelter for street people by painting and selling portraits of the homeless. Click here read about Elfrida’s inspiration for her work.
Subud Canada and Susila Dharma Canada are engaged in a joint fundraising project through the creating a 2009 calendar of Canadian Subud artists. Click here for more information about the 2009 calendar project.

Susila Dharma Bed and Breakfast (SDB&B): Would you like to receive bed and breakfast from Subud hosts when you are travelling on holiday or business and at the same time support SD projects in the world?
Or would you like to offer a friendly Subud port-of-call for travellers to your neck of the woods, supporting projects at the same time?
SD France and SD Spain has initiated a register of Subud members who would be willing to donate a number of nights and breakfast per year bed towards Susila Dharma work of the host country.
For more information and to register for this scheme, go to our special B&B section.

Art Fair: Subud Portland hosted an art fair at their hall. Local Artists were invited to sell their wares with a percentage of sales going to SD USA.
Dinner/Silent Auction: Several groups across the country helped raise money for SD project Clear Path International . Members cooked food or had it donated to sell. Some included a silent auction or entertainment. You can hold smaller dinners in your home, share DVDs and ask for donations.
Giving Fair: These fairs have booths by many different development and humanitarian organizations, like a craft fair, except you donate to the groups that interest you.
