Educational Opportunities
Hesther Bate, who has already run two workshops on the subject, is proposing a training week-end on volunteering in March 2009. This will possibly take place at Loudwater Farm in the UK, and will have a full programme including testing, looking at existing projects, with real needs vs. skills offered.
Sessions would include listening and interpersonal skills; cultural differences (dress, attitudes to women/youth/age); health; diet; and practical issues like visas. Participants will be asked to take part in communal tasks and to contribute a small amount financially.
If you are interested, please contact Hesther at randhbate@gmail.com
The Guerrand-Hermès Foundation (GHFP) is collaborating with the Sussex School of Education to offer an innovative programme in the study of Person-Centred Education (PCE) leading to an MA Education Studies. For more information, see the University of Sussex website: www.sussex.ac.uk
